KTheChosen & Nate Lesco Ignite Summer With “Orchard”

THE STYLE OF KTHECHOSEN

In the heart of Calgary’s hip-hop scene, an African-Canadian rapper hailing from Zimbabwe has taken the music world by storm. KTheChosen, with his distinctive style and infectious energy, has released his latest single titled “Orchard,” featuring the talented Canadian pop artist Nate Lesco. In speaking upon the style of this song, the young rapper says “It might feel darker, sexier or even more commercial than what people are used to, but I’m still your Friendly Neighbourhood Rapper. Even Peter Parker had to have his moment in the Venom suit to process what was going on in his life.”

The song opens with an infectious beat that immediately hooks the listeners, transporting them to a world of carefree summer vibes. The production is a seamless blend of contemporary hip-hop elements with hints of nostalgic club music from the 2010s, reminiscent of chart-topping hits that dominated the airwaves during that era.

Nate Lesco, the featured artist on the track brings his own distinctive sound also. As a Canadian R&B/Pop artist, Nate has garnered attention for his smooth vocal delivery and ability to craft memorable melodies. THE COLLABORATION PROCESS

After performing at various Canadian venues last year, KTheChosen mentions that he was “riding a creative wave” before eventually stumbling onto the instrumental for the song itself. The instrumental however, wasn’t an ordinary production. It was created by TimmyT6 on YouTube, and it was particularly crafted as a “Nate Lesco Type Beat”, alluding to the Canadian singer/songwriter himself.

Going into further detail, KTheChosen explains “I was actually working on a project when this beat came up. The hook instantly came to me. The fact that it was a Nate Lesco beat made me challenge myself to write a hook I could picture him singing. We’ve been friends for years and I’ve consulted on the release strategy for some of his songs, but we’d never made a track together. I wasn’t sure if he’d like the hook or the concept of the song, but I pitched it anyway and his excitement for it made me confident in finishing the verses and getting a third verse from him. I’m so happy with how it turned out and am excited to hear if this is what people expected a Nate Lesco-KTheChosen collab to sound like.”
